About the Club

Dudley Road Hospital Netball Club (DRHNC) was founded over thirty years ago.

We are a now a Silver England Netball CAPS (Clubmark) club operating within the South side of the city of Birmingham. CAPS is aligned to the Sport England Clubmark accreditation scheme which is the only National cross sports quality accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections. It is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards.  CLICK HERE to view our Certificate

We are a growing junior section which is part of a successful netball club within Birmingham. We were formed in 1975 by our head coach who wanted to play netball. At the start, DRHNC joined a Sunday league headed up by the Birmingham City Council. Players were formed from staff who worked at Dudley Road Hospital hence the name, although over the years the hospital has formed new alliances but the club retained its name. Many people from other professions have joined the club.

Our aims for both the Junior and adult sections of the club are:
  • To develop the skills of all players no matter what their ability
  • To have regular match practice to help develop match understanding
  • To have fun and enjoyment at each session
  • To make new friends
  • To understand the importance of exercise
  • To instil a lifelong positive attitude towards netball
  • To continue playing netball no matter what the age

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to provide a positive and enjoyable sports experience and environment for all participants. By building positive self-esteem, through teaching youths and adults the importance of teamwork, how to respect all participants (coaches, officials, parents, opponent, teammates, etc.), they can then become a productive and beneficial force in the community.

Our goal is promoting the sport of netball
Our Vision is to allow everyone to participate in the sport of netball
Our Focus is to teach the sport of netball to females – youth and adults
